[ Pickles now has a device hanging off the strap around his neck, and that's about all that's different. He seems to be trotting a little and for some reason, there's a faint smell of soap on him. When he finds Ashlyn, he barks to get her attention. ]

Oh, hey.

[ she will wander over to this puppy. that is apparently going to be ritually sacrificed. hmmmmmmmmm don't like that actually. ]

What's up? Hungry?

Pickles tilts his head and his head moves a little from side to side. ]

Woof.

[ The puppy hopes you have been well. ]

[ The robotic voice comes from his little device like this. Pickles tilts his head when Ashlyn doesn't say anything. ]

Oh. Uh. I'm... good?

[ i mean the circumstances are a nightmare but how else do you respond to that. ]

[ Pickles sees the hesitation and yeah, that's understandable. He huffs a little and lightly nudges Ashlyn's leg with his snoot affectionately. ]

[ crouches down to give him some pets... ]

Do you even know what's going on here? [ despite what just happened she once again is not really expecting an answer to this. ]

[ Yay, pets. Pickles seems to enjoy that and whines a little.

The puppy is inclined to think that humans should be productive with other things. ]

Week 1: Monday

[ she is struck with the need to pet this puppy suddenly. where's the puppy. ]

[ The puppy is on the island with some shades on. He sits on the beach, looking out at the vast sea... ]

[ cool cool. she'll sit down next to him and reach over to give some pets. careful not to disturb the shades. ]

Do you still like fetch and stuff? I don't know how this works. [ are smart dogs still dogs at heart... ]

[ Pickles turns to look over at Ashlyn and doesn't take long to answer her question. ]

Woof.

[ The puppy says he can play fetch, but would enjoy reading books much more. ]

Too bad. The only book I've seen around here is that bible.

[ which. is haunted. ]

[ This is why he is so disappointed.

The puppy wishes he could read The Republic again to pass the time. ]

[ The puppy says The Republic is a Socratic dialogue, written by Plato, concerning the definition of justice, the order and character of the just city-state and the just man. ]

Week 1: Thursday

[ okay she did not experience any pickleblocking herself, but she did observe that. happening. so sometime after the commotion has died down she'll come looking for him. ]

... Are you okay?

[ Ashlyn will spot Pickles awkwardly walking over to the haunted house, but when he hears her, he slowly turns his head and looks up. No hostility, just. Indifference. Maybe. ]

[ huh. well maybe she's just not good at reading doggy emotions.

does he still have his translator? she's coming closer. ]

[ He still has Doggie the translator around his neck. Pickles sits when he sees Ashlyn come over and has no intension to bite. However, upon a closer look, Pickles resembles something more like a dog zombie than a regular dog. More of its fur is white with its lost sheen and his indigo eyes look dead. ]

[ she is like. oh no we have a doctor but i don't think anyone here is a vet?? ]

You don't look good.

... Woof.

[ The puppy says it doesn't need any more medical treatment as no one can do anything about this. ]

Okay. Well... Do you want come company?

Pickles doesn't say anything to that, but he quietly pads on over to Ashlyn to bite her leg.
